About the Company:

Dirtworks is a rapidly growing bulk earthworks company specializing in cleanfill projects in the North and North West Auckland region. We have a large fleet of trucks at our Whenuapai yard and privately owned tipsite in Waimauku. We are a successful and dynamic company that is growing fast in a busy industry.

About the Role:

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the business development side of our business, providing leadership from inception through to completion with quotes and tendering. We are looking for a candidate who is an organized, strategic thinker and is a natural at relationship building. This role requires a high level of proactiveness to successfully deliver in all areas of projects that we are involved with, including cost, quality, risk, environmental compliance, legislation, health and safety and reporting.

You will use your strong communication skills to work collaboratively with a multitude of key internal and external stakeholders. To be successful in this role you will have a good technical understanding of the earth moving and transport industries, site setup, and local council regulations; along with 3-4 years relevant experience, such as machine operating, site management, building construction or project management.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in leading successful projects from start to finish
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or years of experience
  • Commitment and determination to exceed expectations and project goals
  • Natural leadership abilities and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – both written and verbal
  • Strong earthworks knowledge
  • Reliable, efficient and resourceful with good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent negotiating skills

Duties:

  • Manage full project lifecycle, managing time deliverables to set KPI’s and completing all scopes of work to a high standard
  • Managing detailed programme development, reporting, cost and claim management, liaison with internal and external service providers and suppliers, and the management of reporting staff
  • Primary point of contact to key clients, customers, project contractors.
  • Ensure a high level of customer relationship management is maintained
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations on site setup
  • Commitment and determination to exceed expectations and project goals

  • Maintain strong relationships with our clients
  • Manage client and external stakeholder expectations
